According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, free agent center John Butler will be joining the Wizards on a two-way contract.

Butler, who is 20 years old, was recently waived by the Trail Blazers. He spent last season with Portland on a two-way deal, appearing in 19 games and averaging 2.4 points and 0.9 rebounds in 11.6 minutes per game.

Prior to joining the Blazers, Butler signed a two-way contract with the Pelicans last October after going undrafted out of Florida State. However, he was waived after a week and subsequently picked up by Portland.

The Wizards now have all their two-way slots filled, with Eugene Omoruyi and Jared Butler also signed. However, Washington still needs to make two cuts from their roster by 4:00 pm CT today, as they currently have 17 players with guaranteed contracts.
