Raymond Felton, the free-agent guard Raymond has signed a one-year contract worth $2.4 million deal with the Oklahoma City Thunder. That means he will return to the team. On the other side, after the contract with Felton, the payroll and luxury tax of the Thunder has gone up and created a record in the NBA has become the top $3million in salary and luxury tax pay.
As per the report, the Thunder has paid $150 million in tax on the 2018-19 season if the roster stays unchanged till the end of the season. Talking about Felton, he was one of the most important parts of the team and a season ago he was playing as the backup point guard, and now he is enjoying a wonderful career revival. In the team, he has been popularly known as the best teammate and treated as one of the strongest par which keeps up the perfect chemistry of the team.
In 13 seasons, Felton’s eighth NBA team is the Thunder. In an average Felton has scored 6.9 points and 2.5 assists in total 82 games while playing with the Thunder around one year. He has also played around 80 games in total two seasons with the LA Clippers. In his NBA career, he has scored 11.4 points in an average and 5.4 assists.
As per the report, Carmelo Anthony is all set to generate $27.9 million in 2017-18, that means either he will dump the contract with the team or can stretch the salary limit more than three years will reduce the financial burden of the Oklahoma City Thunder.
However, it is quite interesting to see ownership beat so much for a roster that didn’t get out of the first round of playoff for the year 2018. Some rumours have stated that the team traded James Harden to avoid paying the luxury tax.
