According to a tweet by Sportando’s Emiliano Carchia, the versatile guard once with the Rockets, known as Trevor Hudgins, is set to join the French squad, Le Mans.
Hudgins, who was not selected in the draft after his time at Northwest Missouri State in 2022, inked a two-way contract with the Houston team. However, his NBA experience was limited to just five games, where he averaged 5.6 minutes per match.
Despite this, Hudgins left a mark in the G League, where he put up impressive numbers of 18.6 points, 5.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in a total of 46 regular season games and Showcase Cup matches. Moreover, he exhibited his proficiency as a three-point shooter for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, hitting 38.3% of his 11.5 long-range attempts per game, which helped guide them to the G League Finals, where they ultimately fell to the Delaware Blue Coats.
The guard, at a height of 6’0″, originally agreed to the Rockets’ two-way contract offer in the previous off-season. However, he was later waived by the team in October, leading Houston to fill the available two-way position with Nate Hinton.
Following his release, Hudgins became eligible to sign a two-way contract with another club, though it remains unclear if he attracted any more NBA attention. Alternatively, it is plausible that his deal with Le Mans involves a more financially rewarding package, opening up avenues for him to stand out as a key player for the squad.
