Accusations have been brought against Chris Johnson, the former running back for the Tennessee Titans, for allegedly financing murder-for-hire shootings that resulted in the deaths of two individuals in 2016, as per TMZ.

Summing it up, authorities claim that CJ2K rewarded a gang member with money for supposedly killing two men suspected of fatally shooting Johnson’s friend in 2015.

The backstory goes like this: Johnson narrowly escaped death in a shooting incident in Orlando, Fla., on March 8, 2015, when officials say an individual fired gunshots at the Jeep Chris was traveling in at approximately 4 AM.

While Johnson recovered from a gunshot wound to his shoulder, his friend and the driver of the vehicle, Dreekius Johnson, tragically did not survive the attack.

It is important to mention that Johnson has not been formally charged with any wrongdoing at this time.

New legal filings indicate that “information gathered hinted [the shooting] was a gang-affiliated assassination attempt on Chris Johnson.” Officials further allege that a gang associate named Dominic Bolden carried out the killings of two individuals—one in January 2016 and the other in July 2016—that were believed to have targeted Johnson and his friend.

As per the court documents, authorities state that a source informed them that as a token of appreciation for Bolden’s supposed deeds, Chris assisted in facilitating his rise to a prominent position within a well-known drug trafficking group (DTO) in Florida.

The source disclosed to authorities that Johnson supplied Bolden “with finances and a contact who could consistently provide Dominic Bolden with the required narcotics for the DTO.”

Additionally, the source mentioned that the “murder for hire bolstered Dominic Bolden’s status, reputation, and authority within the DTO,” ultimately establishing Bolden as the organization’s de facto leader.

The 34-year-old is additionally accused of aiding in the daily functions of the DTO.

After a decade-long NFL career, Johnson concluded his tenure with 9,561 rushing yards, earning the moniker “CJ2K” following his 2,006-yard rushing accomplishment in 2009.
