Point guard Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors managed to accumulate 36 points during the initial match of the Western Conference finals, resulting in a 116-94 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers.
An noteworthy observation during the game was the absence of Kevin Durant, a prominent figure in the Warriors lineup. Durant sat out his second consecutive match due to a calf injury sustained in Game 5 of the preceding Western Conference semifinals. Klay Thompson also displayed an impressive performance by contributing 26 points, accompanied by Draymond Green who added 12 points. On the opposing side, Damian Lillard stood out for the Blazers with 19 points, though he also struggled with seven turnovers.
In the pursuit of clinching their third consecutive NBA title, the Golden State Warriors now find themselves merely three wins away from securing their fifth consecutive NBA Finals appearance. As the Warriors gear up for Game 2 of the Western Conference finals tonight at 9 pm ET in Oakland, they will aspire to garner a two-game advantage over the Blazers.
