The Detroit Pistons have enlisted the expertise of guard Jaylen Nowell by striking a 10-day contract.
At 6 feet 4 inches tall and tipping the scales at 201 pounds, Nowell comes with half a decade of time in the NBA under his belt, having partaken in 193 professional games (including four starts), during his tenure with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Memphis Grizzlies. Chosen with the 43rd pick during the 2019 NBA Draft by the Timberwolves, Nowell has upheld averages of 8.9 points, 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 0.5 steals, playing an average of 17.1 minutes per match. In the current season, Nowell took part in nine games with the Grizzlies, recording average figures of 5.7 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists throughout 17.3 minutes of playtime per game.
During his time with the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of the Sacramento Kings, over a span of 28 games this season, Nowell has averaged 17.4 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists, spending around 27.9 minutes on the hardwood each outing.
A native of Seattle, Nowell is a product of the University of Washington’s basketball program, where he showcased his talents from 2017 to 2019. Accolades during his college career include claiming the Pac-12 Player of the Year award and earning a position on the First-Team All-Pac-12 for the Huskies in 2019.
