Recently, the Boston Celtics have finalized the signing of Nathan Knight, a versatile forward/center, under a two-way agreement.
In conjunction with this move, the Celtics have opted to waive Jay Scrubb, a skilled guard.
Knight, with a height of 6-10 and a weight of 253 pounds, has competed in a total of 108 matchups (including a pair of starting appearances) for the Atlanta Hawks (during the 2020-21 campaign) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (during the 2022-23 season). Throughout his professional tenure, he has maintained average performances of 3.7 points and 2.0 rebounds per game, playing for 7.8 minutes on average, while showcasing an impressive field goal percentage of 47.6.
Originating from Syracuse, New York, Knight attained the prestigious designation of a three-time Lou Henson Mid-Major All-American (in 2018, 2019, and 2020) during his college tenure at William & Mary. His outstanding on-court contributions encompassed averages of 17.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.1 assists across 125 appearances. In his senior year, Knight was notably bestowed with the Lou Henson National Player of the Year accolade by CollegeInsider.com, an annual tribute bestowed upon the premier Division I mid-major athlete in the country. In addition, he garnered honors such as the Basketball Times National Mid-Major Player of the Year and the 2020 CAA Player of the Year.
Before venturing into college basketball, Knight attended Nottingham High School in Syracuse, New York, prior to culminating his secondary education at Kimball Union Academy in Meriden, New Hampshire.
