Even though Lebron James has joined the Los Angeles Lakers, J.R. Smith is still given important and not only for his time and tendency to place his swoosh=laden shoes in his mouth. This wasn’t that important, and neither was it truer than when he was recently asked whether he would like to talk to the National Basketball Association about the report that states that Smith will be fined every single time he played without concealing his new Supreme tattoo.

After the practice on Tuesday, Smith said “No. For what?”. He even continued saying that he doesn’t like talking to the police as it doesn’t mean anything to him. This analogy might have been a little bit forced, but earlier in the summer Smith had turned himself into the New York Police Department by criminal mischief charge that was stemmed from a phone-throwing scenario right outside of a club in the early summer.

Smith was seen pointing out the hypocritical nature of the league on their stance with other players such as Marcin Gortat and the Jordan Brand Jumpman logo which is always visible on his lower leg and Carmelo Anthony\s WB Warner Brother logo which is etched on his shoulder to celebrate the player’s roots with his West Baltimore side. The WB logo is very prominently displayed. Smith said that “They just said it’s branding.” He also said that he’s not the only person who has an inked his body with Brand’s names.

Reportedly Supreme and Smith have a long history, but that doesn’t mean, him getting a tattoo will be based on his actual affection for the brand. Earlier this year, Smith had modeled when Supreme collaborated with Nike. Both the brand felt that this collaboration would be great with Smith, “They reached out to my representation, and we got the deal done. It’s a perfect fit. I love it.”

Despite the professional partnership, Supreme isn’t compensating Smith for his new tattoo.
