Highly uncommon move from Indiana Pacers large forward Myles Turner, who has publicly urged a competing team to trade for him.
There have been ongoing discussions between the Lakers and Pacers regarding a potential trade involving Russell Westbrook, Buddy Hield, and Turner. Turner is now advocating for the Lakers to push through with the deal.
In an interview on The Woj Pod, Turner expressed his views, stating, “If I were in the Lakers’ shoes, I would seriously consider this opportunity given the circumstances you are in.”
He further added, “I am fully aware of the value I can bring to a team – my leadership skills, shot-blocking prowess, proficiency in 3-point shooting, and overall ability to create plays on the court.”
The Lakers are in dire need of Turner’s skills on both ends of the court, yet reports suggest they are hesitant due to concerns about parting ways with multiple first-round draft picks.
Westbrook’s performance in Los Angeles has been lackluster, leading to further contemplation. However, his standout performance against the Denver Nuggets, where he tallied 18 points, 8 rebounds, and 8 assists coming off the bench, may complicate the decision-making process for the Lakers.
