The Warriors are currently navigating a difficult phase, and Steph Curry has shed some light on their ongoing season.
Golden State has struggled with inconsistency and is mired in a mediocrity they can’t seem to escape. Curry has been striving to guide the team, but his efforts have yet to yield the desired results.
He refers to this season as an “emotional roller coaster.”
“It’s very volatile right now in terms of the emotional roller coaster this year,” Curry shared with ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “It resembles what it was like during that [2021-22 season that concluded with a championship].
“I think it’s a challenge for us to simply try to keep our confidence in what we’re attempting to accomplish and build. Until we reach the end, we need to hold on to that.”
The four-time champ has recently made some vague comments to the press but expressed that he would understand if the organization chooses not to pursue significant changes at the trade deadline, as long as everyone elevates their performance.
“We’re trying to be a tangible threat in a playoff series,” Curry remarked. “If Mike calls and says, ‘Hey, this is an opportunity to do X, Y, Z,’ I’ll share my thoughts.
“My hope is that [if there’s no action at the deadline], it’s not due to a lack of effort. If we don’t have a path to improvement, my main focus is on winning, and as long as all efforts are directed toward that, I can accept whatever unfolds.”
Despite the ups and downs, Curry’s relentless drive for victory remains evident, and he asserted Wednesday that anyone who thinks he is satisfied with being part of an average team is “insane.”
