The Brooklyn Nets have finalized a trade with the Golden State Warriors, acquiring guard De’Anthony Melton and two-way guard Reece Beekman, plus three unprotected second-round draft picks—specifically for 2026 and 2028 (both from Atlanta) and 2029 (from Golden State). In exchange, the Nets will part with guard Dennis Schröder and a 2025 second-round pick (from Miami).

Moreover, the Nets have filed for waivers on forward Cui Yongxi.

Melton, standing at 6’2″ and weighing 201 pounds, appeared in six games for the Warriors this season after signing with the team as a free agent on July 8. During his appearances, he averaged 10.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals in 20.2 minutes per game. Unfortunately, his season was cut short due to a partial tear of his left ACL, which occurred on November 12.

Beekman, who measures 6’1″ and weighs 198 pounds, signed a two-way deal with the Warriors on July 3 and has participated in two games for the main team. He also took part in nine Tip-Off Tournament games for the Santa Cruz Warriors, the G League affiliate of Golden State, where he had standout averages of 18.7 points on 51.5 percent shooting, alongside 5.2 rebounds, 7.3 assists (ranking him ninth in the G League), and 2.8 steals (placing him third in the G League) over 31.5 minutes each game. Prior to turning professional, the 23-year-old from Milwaukee spent four years at the University of Virginia from 2020 to 2024, where he was recognized as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year in both his junior and senior seasons, a distinction shared by only two other players before him. He finished his college career as Virginia’s all-time leader in steals, amassing a total of 228.

Schröder, who joined the Nets on February 8, 2024, through a trade with Toronto, has participated in 52 games (48 of which were starts) over two seasons with the team, averaging 16.3 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 6.3 assists in 32.7 minutes per game. This season, he has played in 23 games, starting all of them, with averages of 18.4 points, 3.0 rebounds, 6.6 assists, and 1.1 steals in 33.6 minutes per game.

Cui signed a two-way contract with Brooklyn on September 20, 2024, and has played five games for the Nets as well as five games with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate, this season.
