The Detroit Pistons have officially added guard Javante McCoy to their roster.
At 6 feet 5 inches and weighing 180 pounds, McCoy has played in 12 games this season for the Motor City Cruise, the NBA G League team affiliated with the Pistons. In these games, he has averaged 14.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over 26.1 minutes per game. Impressively, McCoy holds a 3-point shooting percentage of 51.4%, which not only leads the Cruise but also ranks him seventh in the NBA G League among qualifying players. A native of Milwaukee, McCoy has accumulated a total of 96 games in his G League career with teams such as the South Bay Lakers, Austin Spurs, and Motor City Cruise, where he has averaged 11.4 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 22.8 minutes of play.
During his five-season college tenure at Boston University from 2017 to 2022, McCoy posted career averages of 13.1 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.6 assists across 147 games, of which he started 138. In recognition of his performance, he was named to the 2021-22 All-Patriot League First Team after leading the league in scoring with an impressive average of 17.4 points per game.
