The Toronto Raptors have decided to exercise the fourth-year team option on the rookie scale contract of guard-forward Ochai Agbaji, along with the third-year team option for guard-forward Gradey Dick.
These moves secure both players’ contracts until the conclusion of the 2025-26 season.
Agbaji, who is 6-foot-5 and weighs 219 pounds, has been making his mark this season, averaging 12.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 27.7 minutes per game across four contests, three of which he started. He boasts an impressive shooting percentage of .588 (20-34) from the field, which includes a .455 (5-11) mark from three-point range, and has scored in double digits on three separate occasions. Acquired from the Utah Jazz during last season’s trade deadline, Agbaji has shown promise early in his career.
Hailing from Milwaukee, Agbaji was selected 14th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2022 NBA Draft. In his 141 career NBA games (53 of which he started) with both the Jazz and Raptors, he has averaged 6.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 21.0 minutes. Before joining the professional ranks, he had a successful four-year stint at Kansas from 2018 to 2022, where he was honored with three All-Big 12 selections and played a pivotal role in the Jayhawks’ NCAA National Championship win in 2022, earning the title of Most Outstanding Player of the Final Four.
Dick, measuring 6-foot-7 and weighing 208 pounds, has been impressive as well, averaging 16.0 points, 1.8 assists, and 29.9 minutes in his four starts this season. He has an overall shooting percentage of .431 (22-51) from the floor and a three-point shooting rate of .346 (9-26), in addition to a perfect 11-for-11 showing from the free-throw line. Dick has also scored in double figures three times, highlighted by a career-best 25 points on October 26 against Minnesota.
A native of Wichita, Kansas, Dick was chosen 13th overall by the Raptors in 2023. Over 64 games (21 starts), he has averaged 9.0 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 21.7 minutes. Dick came into the NBA following an outstanding season at Kansas, where he received recognition on the All-Big 12 Second Team, All-Newcomer Team, and All-Freshman Team, setting a freshman record for the Jayhawks by sinking 83 three-point field goals.
