Recently acquired Dallas player Klay Thompson has shared some sincere advice for up-and-coming basketball players.

Klay participated in Rico Hines’ latest training sessions and, at the end of the events, provided some truly valuable guidance to the young athletes in attendance.

“Listen, don’t let anyone take away your joy,” Thompson stated. “You’re in a chaotic period where everyone has their views. Parents, coaches, online commentators, all of it. Simply ignore it and remember why you love this game. Stay concentrated… sharpen your abilities every day and focus on the details, and you’ll reach your full potential and get the chance to play basketball at a professional level.

“There’s really no greater career in the world, as the real world can be tough,” Thompson continued. “Embrace this experience wholeheartedly, especially while you’re youthful and energetic. Always take pride in your effort and never allow anyone to undermine your happiness. Remember the reason you engage in this game; it’s for the passion of the sport, not merely to receive all the rewards that accompany it. It’s for the love of the game, and I promise you, you’ll truly enhance your abilities.”

There’s no doubt that Thompson’s remarks emanated from a genuine place.
