Markieff Morris Returns to the Dallas Mavericks with Fresh Contract

During the last season, Morris (6-9, 245) took part in 26 games for the Mavericks, averaging 2.5 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 8.3 minutes of playtime. He reached double-digit scoring on a single occasion throughout the 2023-24 season, accumulating 10 points (4-9 FG, 2-5 3FG) along with five rebounds and four assists against Portland (12/16/23).

Throughout his career spanning 776 NBA games, of which 379 were as a starter, Morris has been associated with Dallas (2023-24), Brooklyn (2022-23), Miami (2021-22), the Los Angeles Lakers (2019-21), Detroit (2019-2020), Oklahoma City (2019), Washington (2016-2019), and Phoenix (2011-16). He posted averages of 10.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 23.6 minutes on the court. After being acquired by the Lakers in the 2019-20 season, Morris played a crucial role in Los Angeles winning an NBA championship, competing in all 21 playoff games that season.

Chosen as the 13th overall selection in the 2011 NBA Draft, the 13-year veteran was picked by the Phoenix Suns after spending three years (2008-11) at the University of Kansas.
