The revelation of the next out of three planned sculptures honoring Kobe Bryant is set to take place at an exclusive gathering this Friday in close proximity to Crypto.com Arena, as reported by ESPN.
This particular statue will also pay tribute to Bryant’s daughter, Gianna “Gigi” Bryant, who tragically lost her life in the same helicopter crash that tragically took her father’s life along with seven others in January 2020.
The first sculpture of Bryant, which was unveiled on February 8th, captures Bryant in the midst of his famous 81-point game against the Toronto Raptors in 2006.
Today’s unveiling carries significant importance, occurring on 8/2/24, commemorating both of Bryant’s jersey numbers and honoring Gigi as well.
Echoing this sequence, the inaugural sculpture unveiling occurred on 2/8/24.
According to Vanessa Bryant, the third sculpture will feature Bryant in his iconic No. 24 Lakers uniform and is set to be revealed at a later date in the upcoming season, as per ESPN.
