The deal sees Houston Rockets transferring their first-round pick of 2025 to Brooklyn Nets, along with relinquishing their 2026 first-round pick. In exchange, they obtain a 2025 first-round pick swap privilege (between Houston/Oklahoma City and Phoenix), the 2027 first-round selection of Phoenix Suns, and the rights to the two most advantageous draft picks from Dallas, Phoenix, and Houston by 2029. Brooklyn will retain the least favored pick among the three teams for the 2029 draft.
Under the terms of the agreement:
– In 2025, the Rockets are granted the option to choose between swapping their own first-round pick or Oklahoma City’s for Phoenix’s pick.
– The 2027 first-round pick of the Phoenix Suns will be handed over to the Rockets.
– By 2029, Houston secures the rights to the superior pick from either Dallas or Phoenix, in addition to the option of swapping their pick for the less preferred one between Dallas and Phoenix.
On the other hand, the Rockets surrender:
– The privilege to switch either their first-round pick or Oklahoma City’s pick for the Nets’ first-round pick in 2025.
– Brooklyn’s first-round pick of 2026.
