The Bucks have verified that they will fulfill A.J. Green‘s $2,120,693 earnings for the 2024/25 season, as detailed by Michael Scotto from HoopsHype on Twitter.
As per our early salary guarantee schedule, Milwaukee would have had to let go of Green by July 8 to escape responsibility for his minimum wage in ’24/25. Scotto’s latest information shows that both sides opted not to prolong that cutoff date.
Green, who entered the NBA as an undrafted player from Northern Iowa in 2022, became part of the Bucks on a two-way deal in July 2022 before transitioning to a standard contract a year later. Despite limited playing time in his initial year, he experienced more opportunities in his second season, averaging 4.5 points and 1.1 rebounds in 11.0 minutes per game across 56 appearances coming off the bench.
With a sharpshooting prowess from beyond the arc, the 24-year-old boasts an impressive 41.2% conversion rate on his career three-point shots (113-of-274). With the exit of their primary three-point marksman, Malik Beasley, in free agency, the Bucks may lean on Green more in his third NBA season due to his floor-spacing capabilities.
Now that Green’s salary has been officially settled, the Bucks have 13 standard confirmed contracts for the 2024/25 season, with second-year guard Andre Jackson holding a partial guarantee on his minimum-wage deal. All three of their two-way contract spots are presently filled.
Regarding Green’s future, he is under contract for one additional season after the ongoing one—his $2.3MM remuneration for ’25/26 will be assured if he is not let go before July 8, 2025.
