According to insider reports, the Jazz has come to terms with the unrestricted guard Taevion Kinsey on a dual agreement, as per information disclosed by Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium (via Twitter).

At 24 years old, Kinsey went undrafted in the 2023 Selection and wrapped up a full five seasons at the university level with Marshall. Acting as a “super senior” with the Thundering Herd during the 2022/23 run, he recorded impressive stats of 22.1 points, 5.4 assists, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per match while maintaining shooting percentages of .542 from the floor, .404 from downtown, and .744 from the charity stripe in 32 outings (logging 37.8 minutes each game). These stellar performances resulted in him securing the title of Sun Belt Player of the Year.

At a height of 6’5″, Kinsey inked a contract for Utah’s training camp last season but was released in October prior to the start of the ’23/24 period. He had a brief stint with the Jazz on a 10-day agreement in March, although he did not see any floor time.

Throughout most of his first professional season, Kinsey played a significant role for the Salt Lake City Stars, the NBA G League affiliate of the Jazz. Over 50 appearances in both the Showcase Cup and the regular season (averaging 29.6 minutes per contest), he tallied averages of 10.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, showcasing efficient shooting percentages of .555, .427, and .780.
