The Detroit Pistons have announced that Executive Troy Weaver will be departing from the team.
“Pistons owner Tom Gores expressed his deep appreciation for Troy’s dedication to the team, saying, “Troy has played a critical role in the evolution of our Pistons. Despite facing obstacles, his legacy will be remembered for being instrumental in transforming the franchise. He has bravely addressed the challenges of a rebuild and has executed the hard work necessary to give us the strategic flexibility we enjoy today. Troy has assembled an outstanding cohort of young players who possess both immense talent and character, setting the stage for our future success. I have tremendous respect for Troy both personally and professionally for his significant contributions to our organization. As he embarks on new ventures, he does so with my best wishes.”
The decision for Weaver to exit was reached amicably and comes on the heels of the recent appointment of Trajan Langdon as the Pistons’ new President of Basketball Operations.
