Rui Hachimura is reaping the benefits of the impact made by LeBron James and Anthony Davis, as highlighted by Dereck Fisher, a five-time Lakers victor. According to Fisher, “Rui has consistently showcased glimpses of his current display.” He also mentioned, “It takes time for players to evolve into their optimal selves. However, being in the presence of players who are regarded as the best, like my encounters with Kobe Bryant, witnessing Shaquille O’Neal’s authority, observing Phil Jackson’s coaching brilliance, and experiencing Jerry Sloan’s rigorous coaching style, it’s certainly infectious.”
Hachimura underwent training with LeBron during the off-season, and Fisher believes that being in the company of the top scorer in league history and a seasoned veteran like Anthony Davis is tremendously advantageous for the Japanese player. Fisher further added, “Being around LeBron daily and witnessing his brilliance, and experiencing Anthony Davis’ excellence, and being part of the Lakers organization with the pressure of needing to win a championship for everything else to matter, I feel that this compels a player to enhance their perspective.”
Throughout the ongoing season, the 25-year-old has taken part in 12 games for the Lakers, registering an average of 11.8 points and 3.8 rebounds per game in nearly 23 minutes of playtime.
