Josh Hart, the forward for the Knicks, has fired back at Tristan Thompson’s remarks about him, sparking some tension between them. Quite literally.
However, it’s important to have some context first.
Prior to the Cavaliers and Knicks game on Tuesday, Thompson was questioned about his thoughts on the similarities in rebounding between him and Hart.
It’s safe to say he was not pleased with the comparison at all.
“Comparing me and Josh Hart in terms of offensive rebounding? You should have used Pat Beverly for comparison,” Thompson remarked, as reported by Stefan Bondy of the New York Post. “Comparing my rebounding with Josh Hart? No. That’s like comparing a filet to a sirloin steak.”
Subsequently, the Cavs triumphed over the Knicks with a score of 109-91 on Tuesday night, and Hart outperformed Thompson in rebounds, securing a 7-2 lead.
Hart achieved another victory by amusingly taunting Thompson when questioned about the Cavaliers’ motivation to seek vengeance against the Knicks for terminating their playoffs run last year.
“You always witness it, man. It’s no concern for us. That’s their prerogative. If they want to harbor a grudge, it’s up to them. We’re just sirloin steaks,” Hart stated to Kristian Winfield.
The two teams met again the very next day, and indeed, the Cavs gained their revenge with a 95-89 triumph over NY.
The ultimate victor, however, was Hart, as once again, he outperformed Thompson in rebounds, leading with 8-5.
