According to an NBA scout, if given the chance, the Lakers will not pass up on drafting Bronny James, LeBron’s son, in the 2024 NBA Draft. The scout believes that Bronny’s reputation and the potential of LeBron joining the team will make him an attractive pick for any team. Despite not being a standout player, he is solid and capable, with good ball-handling skills and three-point shooting abilities. The scout compares him to Austin Rivers, who has had a successful career in the NBA.
There were concerns about Bronny’s basketball future after he suffered a cardiac arrest during practice at USC in July. However, his family representative has assured that he is recovering well and will soon return to the court.
Before his health setback, Bronny was considered a strong prospect and was even projected as a potential top ten pick for the 2024 NBA Draft. He possesses a strong frame, athleticism, and an impressive ability to hit deep three-pointers. NBA executives find his potential as a point guard intriguing, given his high basketball IQ and continuous improvement each season. Defensively, he is engaged and excels as both an on-ball and off-ball defender, generating steals.
