After a recent arthroscopic procedure on his left knee, Philadelphia 76ers forward P.J. Tucker has been given the all-clear for on-court activities and is set to join the training camp in Charleston, South Carolina.
According to reports from the Philly Voice, it has been suggested that Tucker will assume a pivotal and versatile role for the Sixers in the upcoming 2022-23 season. Aside from his expected playing time as a forward, Tucker is also slated to contribute as a backup center behind Joel Embiid, forming part of the team’s strategy when the MVP contender is not on the court.
As mentioned in the Philadelphia Inquirer earlier in July, Tucker, a robust 6-foot-5, 245-pound power forward, posted modest averages of 7.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists during his previous season with the Miami Heat. However, he notably achieved a career-high shooting percentage of 41.5% from beyond the three-point line.
