The NBA’s 2022-23 preseason matches have kicked off, beginning internationally, with the Warriors squaring off against the Wizards in Japan. According to reports from the Bay Area News Group:
Upon entering the court during Friday’s preseason curtain-raiser, James Wiseman felt a flutter of nerves, and rightfully so.
Having waited a whopping 1.5 years to don the Warriors’ jersey again, Friday night marked his debut playing in an NBA game amidst a packed arena for the very first time.
And Wiseman did not disappoint, thrilling the audience of over 20,000 enthusiastic fans.
Asserting his towering 7-foot frame, Wiseman left a mark in the Warriors’ 96-87 victory against the Washington Wizards, unleashing five impactful dunks, including an alley-oop during the second quarter courtesy of an assist from Steph Curry.
Scoring a game-high of 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting, Wiseman also secured nine rebounds in his under-24-minute stint coming off the bench.
