There has been no recent clash between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors since their playoff meeting three months back.
Nonetheless, the rivalry has escalated over the summer, largely due to Draymond Green’s influence.
Jaren Jackson Jr. shared in a TikTok video that the Grizzlies are using a Green quote in their weight room for motivation.
Displayed on a blackboard in the gym, the quote reads: “Memphis is about to face reality check.”

The tension between Green and the Grizzlies commenced during their intense Western Conference semifinal series, where both sides accused each other of breaching protocols.
Even after the Warriors eliminated Memphis in six games, the verbal jousting persisted during the offseason.
During an interview with Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks, standout guard Ja Morant mentioned that Memphis is living “rent-free” in the minds of the reigning champions, following a tweet by Klay Thompson after the Warriors’ 2022 NBA Finals triumph.
In response to Morant’s remarks, Green addressed the issue on his podcast.
Speaking on the Draymond Green Show, he stated, “Taunting the team that defeated you and went on to win a championship reflects a whole new level of ignorance. It can’t get more ignorant than that. For them, the pressure is now on to perform. Winning becomes tougher when you become the target.”
