As per the latest announcement from President of Basketball Operations, Tim Connelly, the Denver Nuggets have secured the services of guard Carlik Jones on a 10-day contract.
Jones, who stands at 6-1 and weighs 185 pounds, has participated in three matchups for the Dallas Mavericks this season. In those games, he garnered an average of 1.0 rebounds and 1.7 assists within 6.4 minutes of playtime per game. Additionally, he has played in 10 games for the Texas Legends in the G League, where he boasted an average of 20.2 points, 5.2 rebounds, 4.4 assists, and 1.30 steals throughout 30.8 minutes of gameplay per game.
Hailing from Cincinnati, OH, Jones did not get selected in the 2021 NBA Draft. He wrapped up his last collegiate campaign at Louisville University, where he posted averages of 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.37 steals in 19 games, all of which he started. He was honored with the ACC All-First Team selection and was recognized as an AP All-American Honorable Mention. Initially, he played three seasons at Radford University before making the move to Louisville. Across his basketball career, he had played in 118 games, starting in 106 of them, and maintained averages of 15.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 1.28 steals over 33.3 minutes per game.
