The Houston Astros are being welcomed by the Washington Nationals for the fifth game of the ongoing World Series. This development comes as a relief for President Donald Trump, as it means he won’t have to spend much on gasoline to reach the stadium.
The teams are currently deadlocked in a tense situation, with each team having won two games so far. The outcome of the upcoming match will determine which team takes the lead.
Despite this, Trump has opted out of throwing the first ball. Instead, he intends to show up shortly after the game has commenced.
According to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, this decision was made to prevent any disruption to the fans entering the stadium due to Trump’s arrival. Manfred expressed his approval of the President’s choice, stating, “We believe the President made a wise decision.”
The President is rumored to have had a talent for baseball during his days in high school. In a statement to the Economic Club of Washington DC in 2014, he claimed, “I was scouted by teams and received offers to play in the Major League.”
Trump humorously remarked that it would be challenging for him to throw the first pitch, especially with the bullet-resistant vest he would be wearing beneath his jacket.
