Johnson & Webster Combines For 42, Western Illinois Is Cruising At 83-58

The men’s basketball team, Western Illinois has reportedly shot 58 per cent of hoops from the field and have secured a dominating victory with 83-28 over SIUE on 29th November, on Wednesday. The head coach of Western Illinois, Billy Wright, has said that “the team has been clicking most of the night.”

The coach also noted that it was quite fun to watch the game, but the most important part was the team played the game in the most appreciable way possible. Webster managed to knock down the triple of the largest lead from the evening with 75-40 when there was another 6:30 on the clock left.

The offensive measure has witnessed double of the team and Kobe Webster with a mark of 11 minutes as the crown prince of Leathernecks managed to pull off around 62.5% of shooting in the second half. Webster had led the way with six rebounds, five assists and 22 points whereas Johnson allegedly scored around 20 points and Gilbeck, on the other hand, missed a double-double with just 10 points with six blocks and nine rebounds.

Billy Wright said that Brandon Gilbeck has showcased as a force at the two ends of the floor and even continued, “The team is better with Gilbeck on the floor as he is the perfect embodiment of balanced attack on the inside as well as on the outside. The head coach also said that guarding his guys during the game while they will be taking the in-rhythm shots is incredibly tough.

The Leatherneck had started the game with 9-2, and Isaac Johnson and Brandon Gilbeck guided the entire team. Given that there was a pressurised Cougar offence the Leathernecks didn’t stumble in their path to victory. Ben Pyle also contributed his part in the game by hitting back to back three pointers and force an early timeout for SIUE.
